When Olsen was cast for Avengers: Age of Ultron, director Joss Whedon assured her that she wouldn’t have to wear the comic-accurate costume, acknowledging its impracticality for the film’s tone and action sequences.
However, during the production of Avengers: Infinity War, Olsen expressed discomfort with her character’s costume, describing it as a “cleavage corset.” She felt that the outfit was unnecessarily revealing and didn’t align with her vision for the character.
Interestingly, for the Disney+ series WandaVision, Olsen advocated for wearing a version of the classic comic costume for a Halloween-themed episode. She believed it would be a fun homage to the original design, even though she had previously been skeptical about donning such attire.
